The material mirror should be trimmed into the appropriate shape to be accommodated in the housing.
外径を上の画像のように、自動機械（メガネレンズ用のエッジャー）で削ります。

機械で外形加工が済んだら、今度は手作業で特殊グラインダーを使用して尖端（裏側）を斜めに削らないといけません。20年以上この作業を続けたお陰で、耳を大分悪くしました。^^;
　また、（言葉が独り歩きするのが怖いですが）、蒸着後の加工は、バリや傷等のリスクもあります。　そのため、ULS以外のミラーのほとんどは、最終形状のミラーを特注して確保しています。
　以上がULSを中止（特注扱い）した理由です。

After the shaping, both rear edges should be ground to evade the collision with the adapter rings.
Currently, all the other type of the EMS have omitted this process because the material mirrors are made for the final shape. Now, you know the reason why EMS-ULS is discontinued.
