Two outland guys stopped at the approach of my shop looking at the display telescope on August 22nd. I just opened the entrance door and invited them into my shop. Then, we enjoyed talkings for a while and they took photos of us and promised me to send the files to me afterward. Here are the photos they sent to me recently.
They were Karate-Man who had come all the way from Hungary to have the Dan-Exam. at the Soke of their sect in Tottori City. They were not serious star gazers but seemed to have some interst in astronomy, too. One of them had “Google Sky” in his smart phone.
The two oculars this client had sent to me in advance seem to be the best match for this binoscopoe, in my opinion.Koenig 32mm offers specially high contrast and the calarity of the field. Though there was some distortion to be seen, it would be no problem in the night sky.
Swarovsky’s Zoom was superb with this binoscope. No distortion could be seen and gives very clear image to the edge of the field through the full range of the magnifications. The barrels of the both should be cut short so that they would not touch the mirror edge.(See the right photo.)
I would often say “Never go panic when you find the original back-focus to be too short for the EMS.”.Here is a good example. Photo 4 (from left) shows that the original back-focus is only 108mm that is far less than “120mm” EMS-US or UM requires with no margin. 130mm or longer back-focus is desirable for the EMS-US(/UM) to use it with a margin of about 10mm.
In this case, minus profiled adapter is the answer, but how would you deal with it?The answer is the male flange of 2″ in diameter that will fit directly into the EMS housing.
Being asked for making low profiled adapters for the Leica Zoom eyepieces, I hit on a universal solution rather than a specialized one.The result is the low-profiled normal 2″ barrel and the low-profiled 2″ sleeve.
