Tatsuro Matsumoto; Inventor of the EMS, Erecting Mirror System. EMS offers non reversed upright image with no additional undesirable abberations.
The binoscope had a first light this night and it was really amazing. Your arrow system is so good and very useful as the mak mirrors tend to shift a bit on focusing. M. in France

You did a fine job, M! The mounting is very simple and cool !
EMS has gone through a lot of mile-stones to achieve the maturity as the usable tools. Erecting the image with the minimum reflection is far from enough. X-Y image shifting mechanism is one of the important mile-stone, but it was not enough for maturity until the limiter mechanism was added.
One of the OTA should be slided to adjust the IPD. The standard spacing of the EMS-UL allows up to 130mm in the largest diameter of the OTA, mostly the diameter of the dew-shield.
EMS will surprise every new user because it will add or subtract nothing except for erecting the image at the comfortable right-angle viewing. At the same time, it also surprises the new user for its lightness . It is because no heavy prisms are in it.
You should learn it to understand that the surface accuracy of EMS should not be more than enough. When you notice your eye-glasses has no surface accuracy of 1/20 lambda or 1/10 lambda, but there is no bad effect on the image of the telescopes; you will understand the excessive accuracy is not necessary on the EMS. The reason is, the total optical system of eye-ball and a lens before it is not “D”, but “d”. So the surface accuracy measured by the D should be multiplied by the ratio of D/d. Quite the same thing can be quoted on the case of the material mirror of the EMS.
